Well, another Sunday, but unlike most of the other game days, we actually left this one a winner. GOOD JOB fellas!!! It was a great game and everyone really showed their stuff. Great defense and great at bats.
This week's games are at 1 and 3. So, no more early morning bullshit.
We know there will be some folks out of town this weekend, so please let us know in the comments if you will be attending this week's game.

PRIDE this weekend and other events related to PRIDE
Hey kids!
Great job again this weekend. FINALLY we pulled one out and I couldnt be prouder!
I wanted to start some discussion about PRIDE. I would like to have a good showing from our team. Plus I plan on attending some of these things and would LOVE to have you guys participate with me.
From Q100:

In Honor Of Pride, We Play Smear the Straight!Well, it wasn't quite called that in elementary school, but in honor of Atlanta Pride the Bert Show is sending Hoss out this week for his very first game of SMEAR THE STRAIGHT! But we need gays and lesbians to come out and play! If you can come to PIEDMONT PARK outside of PARK TAVERN Friday morning at 6:30am (which gives you time to shower and get to work), then e-mail Melissa below. And if you're in a sports league, we could sure use all your players.....(hint)
Six Flags Pearl Day THIS FRIDAY!
After getting up early to head to the park for "Smear the Straight Guy", might as well take the rest of the day off and go to Six Flags! If anyone would like to go, let me know and lets plan on meeting up.
Saturday Brad and I will be manning the booth at the park for HSL from 12-2pm. Stop by and keep us company. Dont forget to bring cocktails or beers... ;)
And FINALLY, Sunday will be the parade. PLEASE try and be in this. Need a good showing from our team.
Love you guys!
Oh, and plan on a BBQ next weekend at Paul's(assuming thats ok with you, Paul. )

Practice Saturday !!!
Practice this Saturday will begin at 11am at the Malibu Grand Prix off Indian Trail. Click here for directions.
This is batting practice and that is something we all could use. Our bats were just not as alive as they should be.

Just a note.
I know I have not been posting as much as I used to (been a little busy), so if anyone wants to be added to the blog as a moderator just email me and let me know. That way you can post on your own.

Memorial Day Tournament!!!
So, eleven of you have said that you can attend the Memorial Day Tournament. I know that David and Paul will not be able to as they are out of town. Now, we need to figure out exactly who is going to play considering we have enough players. The cost per person is $20, so you need to pony that up asap.
So in the comments below tell us if you are going to be there or not. Please do this now so we can get some other players to join us in wining the tournament (cause we will) if we do not have enough.
As folks comment I will update the roster below.
Folks who rock and will be there:
Josh
Brandon
Brad
David E.
Jeremy
Joe
Jeff
Omi
Keith
Mark
Bob S.
Losers who have "better things" to do and will not:
Paul
David C.

Why I am a college football fan

HARTSELLE — So, how dedicated are you to Alabama football? If you answer that you have season tickets and that you go to every game, that's not good enough for Tim and Hannah Witt. They do that, too. But, if you say that you are naming your children after something associated with Crimson Tide football, then you're at the level the couple says separates "regular fans" from "die-hard fans."As early as mid-January, the Witts knew their second child was a boy, and they knew his name would be Saban. That's right, Saban Hardin Witt, who was born Tuesday at about 5 p.m. in Decatur General Hospital, is named after Alabama head football coach Nick Saban. He was two weeks early and weighed 7 pounds and 10 ounces. So, what if Saban doesn't succeed as Alabama's football coach?"We'll tell our son he was named after one of the highest paid coaches in college football," the father said. What if Saban Witt turns into an Auburn fan?"We'll put him up for adoption," his father, joked. "I'm not worried about that. He was bleeding Crimson before he was born, and I'm going to make sure he continues to bleed Crimson."Older brother is TydeThe Witts of Hartselle named their first child, who is 23 months old, Tyde Timothy Witt. He's already attended several Alabama football games. The family will introduce Saban Witt to tailgating and to the Tide nation when Alabama plays Florida State on Sept. 29 at Alltel Stadium in Jacksonville, Fla."My parents are going to the game to baby-sit," his father said.Hannah Witt, a third-grade teacher at Crestline Elementary in Hartselle, was almost six months pregnant before the Witts decided on a name. Initially, they talked about honoring legendary Alabama coach Paul "Bear" Bryant."We were going to spell it differently," she said, of the name Bear. But, the father said one of his good friends, who is a coach in Limestone County, has the nickname "Bear" so they opted against that.Tim Witt, who watched the Alabama coaching search as closely as anyone, said he thought about naming the baby Saban Jan. 4 after Athletic Director Mal Moore introduced Nick Saban as the Tide's head football coach.Warming to name"Hannah was at school, and I called and left her a message," he recalled. "She wasn't excited about the name initially, but after about a week, she started to like it."The mother said she knew they were going with a name with an Alabama theme, but Saban didn't seem right initially."I thought he was crazy in the beginning," she said. "I told some people. They said it was unique, and it grew on me."The father said friends told him he was crazy. The Witts said both sets of grandparents — Wayne and Inez Witt of Hatton and Joe and Paula Hardin of Falkville — approved the name.Hartselle Mayor Dwight Tankersley goes to church with the Witts at Fairview Church of God and tailgates with them at Alabama home games.Although Saban hasn't coached a game at Alabama, Tankersley isn't surprised that the couple selected that name."Just about everybody in church knows they are Alabama football fanatics," Tankersley said."Their first child is Tyde. I don't think anybody in church is surprised."
For those of you that have known me for a while---ya'll know I love tatts. I have 7, plan on getting a few more-including a University of Alabama one on my ankle. My friend sent me this "gem" in response.

BRING MONEY
Saturday to practice. Nobody has responded! We have to pay Kate back for at least the league fee or for the jerseys.
Also, can we think about doing a car wash next Saturday? We dont play any games that weekend, so lets raise some money instead!

Games Recap & Other Shit!!!
Well folks, we had two great games yesterday. We beat both the Wet Deamons (18-9) and the Stingrays (8-7) despite some crappy calls from the umps (Damn I want credit for a Grand Slam). (I think those are the right scores, but not sure). Kiki, Joanie, and Bubbles really stepped up yesterday and did an awesome job. We will be posting stats for the real games starting next week.
A special thanks goes out to Kiki who offered up his lovely home for the after game shindig.
Reminder, since we still do not have a sponsor we need to pony up some money to pay Kate back for the Jerseys, league fees, etc. So try to bring that to practice or the games this weekend. Its around $30 per person, but I understand not everyone can pay that. So the objective is to "raise" around $450. If you can give $100, please do so! I would also like us to start planning a carwash in place of/or after a practice in the near future. We need to start raising some money for tournaments.
Polling for practice times has officially ended. They will just always be at 11am at the same place. Be there or be square.
Games for next week are on the sidebar to the right. The first one is at 9am, and as many of you have already told me that means no going out too late on Saturday night. Just get your bathroom BJs in before midnight and all should be well.
Also, we need to decide if we are going to be doing the Memorial Day tournament. Putting a poll on the sidebar for us to vote in.
Oh, and if any of you have any good pics of the game and team members, email them to me and I am going to start posting them on the blog, and will try to come up with a little something special.
Lastly, if anyone else wants to be added as an admin on the blog so you can post on your own, just email me at jjwhite100@gmail.com and I will add you. It is easy to do, so don't be scared. If Brandon can do it, anyone can.
