Well folks, we had two great games yesterday. We beat both the Wet Deamons (18-9) and the Stingrays (8-7) despite some crappy calls from the umps (Damn I want credit for a Grand Slam). (I think those are the right scores, but not sure). Kiki, Joanie, and Bubbles really stepped up yesterday and did an awesome job. We will be posting stats for the real games starting next week.
A special thanks goes out to Kiki who offered up his lovely home for the after game shindig.
Reminder, since we still do not have a sponsor we need to pony up some money to pay Kate back for the Jerseys, league fees, etc. So try to bring that to practice or the games this weekend. Its around $30 per person, but I understand not everyone can pay that. So the objective is to "raise" around $450. If you can give $100, please do so! I would also like us to start planning a carwash in place of/or after a practice in the near future. We need to start raising some money for tournaments.
Polling for practice times has officially ended. They will just always be at 11am at the same place. Be there or be square.
Games for next week are on the sidebar to the right. The first one is at 9am, and as many of you have already told me that means no going out too late on Saturday night. Just get your bathroom BJs in before midnight and all should be well.
Also, we need to decide if we are going to be doing the Memorial Day tournament. Putting a poll on the sidebar for us to vote in.
Oh, and if any of you have any good pics of the game and team members, email them to me and I am going to start posting them on the blog, and will try to come up with a little something special.
Lastly, if anyone else wants to be added as an admin on the blog so you can post on your own, just email me at jjwhite100@gmail.com and I will add you. It is easy to do, so don't be scared. If Brandon can do it, anyone can.

Practice This Week
Ok, so this weekend's games were awesome, but we all still need some work. Again, here is a poll for this week's practice. Note that we have already heard from Madame and if practice is before 1pm she will not be able to be there. Also, Josh, Brandon, and Brad will not be at practice this week because of prior committments. We accept our loserdom and apologize. Brandon is going to get with the appropriate people and set practice up, but we still need to vote on a time slot that best suits everyone.

Mr. and Miss HSL
Hello Twisters! Great job this past Sunday!!! I will post about that soon...
We need to begin discussing this years HSL pageant. Last year, Tim won Mr. HSL and I think he should be given the opportunity to defend his crown this year! Thoughts?
We also need to nominate someone to be our drag queen mama....
Nominate the person of your choice. This is a team effort so we will need to involve everyone!

Nicknames
Once again PROMOTED to the Top!! After yesterdays two games, I think we might have some new ideas for nicknames. Personally, I would really like to do away with Fire Crotch (it just sounds wrong). I know Bob S. came up with a couple of good ones for Joe and Keith ;)! It also looks like Fish Stick might be here to stay.
Also, got rid of that tragic photo of that drag queen. I could take it no more!!
So Who has some new ideas???? (Also notice, I have added images to almost everyone's nicknames. I tried to match them as best I could, but for some it was a stretch.)
1) Brad Chamness [J-Lo]
2) Brandon Thorn [Captain Asshole]
3) Paul Nevuex ["B.O.S" Balls of steel]
4) Jeff Gwen [Hitch]
5) Josh White [Fire Crotch]
6) David Cheung [Long Time]
7) Dave Edwards [Doc]
8) Omi Conklin [Naomi]
9) Bob Schwartz [Blanche ]
10) Bryan Lowe [Rita May]
11) Joe Henson [Joanie]
12) Mark Messer [Madame]
13) Bob Dahlhofer [Fish Stick]
14) Jeff Hancock [Bubbles]
15) Tim Swiney [Hercules]
16) Scott Sanders [NICKNAME PLEASE]
17) Keith Gross [Kiki]
18) Steve Acuna [NICKNAME PLEASE]
Really Awesome Team Members (But they don't play)

SIX FLAGS DAY!

Hey guys-
I have been throwing around the idea of going to Six Flags one day after practice. Maybe go to the batting cages for an hour, then heading to the park for some fun in the sun----and some boy watching!
What do you all think? That new "Goliath" ride is da bomb!
When could we go? Are you interested?
PRACTICE!!!!
Well, it has been decided and this Saturday's practice will run from about 11-1 or so, at the Kelley Street field.
No scrimmage this time. This weeks practice we will be working on the fundamentals of the game. Catching, throwing, hitting, and running the bases. We will mostly try to focus on each player's weak spots. Just some fine tuning before the start of the season! If you have any suggestions regarding skills you would like to work on, please post it on here or email me.
Here is a link to a map of the park. Directions (If you click on the blue pushpin there are more details).
Here are the team members. Those in bold white are attending the practice. Those in italics are losers and not coming. Please let us know which one you are going to be!!

This weekend and the last
UPDATE!!!
Please check the comments. A time has been chosen for practice.
Hey everyone!
Sorry we got rained out on Sunday :(
I didnt get a chance to call everyone so I hope you all got the emails, text messages and the blog post about the rain out. A friend fell and broke his nose Saturday night and I was at the hospital with him till 7 am. I fell asleep before I could call everyone. If you drove all the way out to the fields, I am soooooo sorry. I'll pay you back some how.
On to this weekend:
We do NOT have the schedule for the games. As soon as those are given to me, I will in turn give them to you.
Practice:
We WILL be having practice Saturday. I have asked Josh to help run it because Brad and I will be in Tuscaloosa(coming back Saturday night).

Please vote on what time works best for you for this Saturday! (Oh, and i have such mad skills that I will know if you vote twice, so be warned!!))

Practice Update
We will be having practice this Saturday at Rawson-Washington Park at 4pm. Please let me know if that is going to be a problem. Many people have expressed concern with an earlier practice on Saturday, including myself. I will be heading back from St. Simen early Saturday morning.

I NEED A VOLUNTEER OR TWO!!!!
Hey kids-
I need some assistance....
1) would someone be willing to go to Dick's or Sports Authority and pick up/buy a dry erase lineup/clip board before Saturday? Thanks, Jeff!
2) someone to help with line-ups and keeping the books during games. Some of you have previous coaching experience and I need TWO people to help keep tabs during the games. I'll be coaching and wont be able to do it myself.
Thanks! We need to be better at keeping the books in case we get protested or we want to protest. I will also list on this blog everyone's batting average and other stats....

Hey Team!!!!
So, this is our new blog that Brandon asked me to create. It is a great way to keep track of all the stuff we do on the team, post schedules, make crude comments, etc. In fact, I think it might be easier than using the Yahoo group and does not fill up our inboxes.
So, please tell me what you think. Suggest changes, etc. This is just my first jab at this whole thing, and I have plenty more to add.
To see what this can be look at the blog of my other softball team www.concretedonkeys.blogspot.com . Now, while I have no problem doing this, I do not have more of a life than my coach has and will not being doing all that.
Thanks,
Josh
